SAN FRANCISCO — July 23, 2025 — Sunny Health AI today announced that it has raised $2.8 million in pre-seed funding to build an AI-first healthcare concierge that simplifies how people find a doctor and book care. The round was led by Zetta Venture Partners, with participation from Mintaka, SemperVirens Venture Capital, Informed Ventures, and Plug and Play Tech Center, alongside angel investors Austen Allred, Zaid Farooqui, and Nikhil Krishnan.

Finding the right doctor and getting an appointment remains one of the most frustrating experiences in healthcare. People are left to figure out which providers are in-network, whether anyone is accepting new patients, how long the wait will be, and what a visit might cost — usually across a maze of directories, phone trees, and hold music. Sunny is building a simpler way: a single conversation that does the work for you.

The pre-seed financing was led by Zetta Venture Partners, an early-stage fund that backs companies building intelligent, AI-first products. Mintaka, SemperVirens Venture Capital, Informed Ventures, and Plug and Play Tech Center also participated, along with angel investors Austen Allred, Zaid Farooqui, and Nikhil Krishnan. Sandra Clarke and Ron Fontanetta join the company as advisors.

Sunny Health AI was founded by Bilal Farooqui (co-founder and CEO), Bo Wang, MD, PharmD (co-founder and Chief Medical Officer), and Nikolas Yanek-Chrones (co-founder and Chief Technology Officer).
